For more information on exporting DB snapshot data, see Exporting DB snapshot data to Amazon S3 in the Amazon RDS User Guide or Exporting DB cluster snapshot data to Amazon S3 in the Amazon Aurora User Guide. For more information on exporting DB cluster data, see Exporting DB cluster data to Amazon S3 in the Amazon Aurora User Guide.

Parameters

Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-ExportOnly <String[]>
The data to be exported from the snapshot or cluster. If this parameter isn't provided, all of the data is exported.Valid Values:
  • database - Export all the data from a specified database.
  • database.tabletable-name - Export a table of the snapshot or cluster. This format is valid only for RDS for MySQL, RDS for MariaDB, and Aurora MySQL.
  • database.schemaschema-name - Export a database schema of the snapshot or cluster. This format is valid only for RDS for PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL.

Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-ExportTaskIdentifier <String>
A unique identifier for the export task. This ID isn't an identifier for the Amazon S3 bucket where the data is to be exported.
Required?True
Position?1
Accept pipeline input?True (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
This parameter overrides confirmation prompts to force the cmdlet to continue its operation. This parameter should always be used with caution.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-IamRoleArn <String>
The name of the IAM role to use for writing to the Amazon S3 bucket when exporting a snapshot or cluster. In the IAM policy attached to your IAM role, include the following required actions to allow the transfer of files from Amazon RDS or Amazon Aurora to an S3 bucket:
  • s3:PutObject*
  • s3:GetObject*
  • s3:ListBucket
  • s3:DeleteObject*
  • s3:GetBucketLocation
In the policy, include the resources to identify the S3 bucket and objects in the bucket. The following list of resources shows the Amazon Resource Name (ARN) format for accessing S3:
  • arn:aws:s3:::your-s3-bucket
  • arn:aws:s3:::your-s3-bucket/*
Required?True
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-KmsKeyId <String>
The ID of the Amazon Web Services KMS key to use to encrypt the data exported to Amazon S3. The Amazon Web Services KMS key identifier is the key ARN, key ID, alias ARN, or alias name for the KMS key. The caller of this operation must be authorized to run the following operations. These can be set in the Amazon Web Services KMS key policy:
  • kms:Encrypt
  • kms:Decrypt
  • kms:GenerateDataKey
  • kms:GenerateDataKeyWithoutPlaintext
  • kms:ReEncryptFrom
  • kms:ReEncryptTo
  • kms:CreateGrant
  • kms:DescribeKey
  • kms:RetireGrant
Required?True
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-PassThru <SwitchParameter>
Changes the cmdlet behavior to return the value passed to the ExportTaskIdentifier parameter. The -PassThru parameter is deprecated, use -Select '^ExportTaskIdentifier' instead. This parameter will be removed in a future version.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-S3BucketName <String>
The name of the Amazon S3 bucket to export the snapshot or cluster data to.
Required?True

-S3Prefix <String>
The Amazon S3 bucket prefix to use as the file name and path of the exported data.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-Select <String>
Use the -Select parameter to control the cmdlet output. The default value is '*'. Specifying -Select '*' will result in the cmdlet returning the whole service response (Amazon.RDS.Model.StartExportTaskResponse). Specifying the name of a property of type Amazon.RDS.Model.StartExportTaskResponse will result in that property being returned. Specifying -Select '^ParameterName' will result in the cmdlet returning the selected cmdlet parameter value.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-SourceArn <String>

Common Credential and Region Parameters

-AccessKey <String>
The AWS access key for the user account. This can be a temporary access key if the corresponding session token is supplied to the -SessionToken parameter.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesAK
-Credential <AWSCredentials>
An AWSCredentials object instance containing access and secret key information, and optionally a token for session-based credentials.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
-EndpointUrl <String>
The endpoint to make the call against.Note: This parameter is primarily for internal AWS use and is not required/should not be specified for normal usage. Only specify this parameter if you must direct the call to a specific custom endpoint.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-NetworkCredential <PSCredential>
Used with SAML-based authentication when ProfileName references a SAML role profile. Contains the network credentials to be supplied during authentication with the configured identity provider's endpoint. This parameter is not required if the user's default network identity can or should be used during authentication.

Used to specify the name and location of the ini-format credential file (shared with the AWS CLI and other AWS SDKs)If this optional parameter is omitted this cmdlet will search the encrypted credential file used by the AWS SDK for .NET and AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio first. If the profile is not found then the cmdlet will search in the ini-format credential file at the default location: (user's home directory)\.aws\credentials.If this parameter is specified then this cmdlet will only search the ini-format credential file at the location given. As the current folder can vary in a shell or during script execution it is advised that you use specify a fully qualified path instead of a relative path.
