CfnSecurityGroupIngress

class aws_cdk.aws_ec2.CfnSecurityGroupIngress(scope, id, *, ip_protocol, cidr_ip=None, cidr_ipv6=None, description=None, from_port=None, group_id=None, group_name=None, source_prefix_list_id=None, source_security_group_id=None, source_security_group_name=None, source_security_group_owner_id=None, to_port=None)

Bases: CfnResource

A CloudFormation AWS::EC2::SecurityGroupIngress.

Adds an inbound rule to a security group.

An inbound rule permits instances to receive traffic from the specified IPv4 or IPv6 CIDR address range, or from the instances associated with the specified security group.

You must specify only one of the following properties: CidrIp , CidrIpv6 , SourcePrefixListId , SourceSecurityGroupId , or SourceSecurityGroupName .

You specify a protocol for each rule (for example, TCP). For TCP and UDP, you must also specify a port or port range. For ICMP/ICMPv6, you must also specify the ICMP/ICMPv6 type and code. You can use -1 to mean all types or all codes.

You must specify a source security group ( SourcePrefixListId , SourceSecurityGroupId , or SourceSecurityGroupName ) or a CIDR range ( CidrIp or CidrIpv6 ). If you do not specify one of these parameters, the stack will launch successfully but the rule will not be added to the security group.

Rule changes are propagated to instances within the security group as quickly as possible. However, a small delay might occur.

    source_security_group_name="sourceSecurityGroupName",
    source_security_group_owner_id="sourceSecurityGroupOwnerId",
    to_port=123
)

Create a new AWS::EC2::SecurityGroupIngress.

Parameters:
  • scope (Construct) –

    • scope in which this resource is defined.

  • id (str) –

    • scoped id of the resource.

  • ip_protocol (str) – The IP protocol name ( tcp , udp , icmp , icmpv6 ) or number (see Protocol Numbers ). Use -1 to specify all protocols. When authorizing security group rules, specifying -1 or a protocol number other than tcp , udp , icmp , or icmpv6 allows traffic on all ports, regardless of any port range you specify. For tcp , udp , and icmp , you must specify a port range. For icmpv6 , the port range is optional; if you omit the port range, traffic for all types and codes is allowed.

  • cidr_ip (Optional[str]) – The IPv4 address range, in CIDR format. You must specify a source security group ( SourcePrefixListId or SourceSecurityGroupId ) or a CIDR range ( CidrIp or CidrIpv6 ). For examples of rules that you can add to security groups for specific access scenarios, see Security group rules for different use cases in the Amazon EC2 User Guide .

  • cidr_ipv6 (Optional[str]) –

    The IPv6 address range, in CIDR format.

  • description (Optional[str]) – Updates the description of an ingress (inbound) security group rule. You can replace an existing description, or add a description to a rule that did not have one previously. Constraints: Up to 255 characters in length. Allowed characters are a-z, A-Z, 0-9, spaces, and ._-:/()#,@[]+=;{}!$*

  • from_port (Union[int, float, None]) – The start of port range for the TCP and UDP protocols, or an ICMP/ICMPv6 type number. A value of -1 indicates all ICMP/ICMPv6 types. If you specify all ICMP/ICMPv6 types, you must specify all codes. Use this for ICMP and any protocol that uses ports.

  • group_id (Optional[str]) – The ID of the security group.

  • group_name (Optional[str]) – The name of the security group. Constraints: Up to 255 characters in length. Cannot start with sg- . Valid characters: a-z, A-Z, 0-9, spaces, and ._-:/()#,@[]+=&;{}!$*

  • source_prefix_list_id (Optional[str]) – The ID of a prefix list.

  • source_security_group_id (Optional[str]) – The ID of the security group. You must specify either the security group ID or the security group name. For security groups in a nondefault VPC, you must specify the security group ID.

  • source_security_group_name (Optional[str]) – [Default VPC] The name of the source security group. You must specify either the security group ID or the security group name. You can’t specify the group name in combination with an IP address range. Creates rules that grant full ICMP, UDP, and TCP access. For security groups in a nondefault VPC, you must specify the group ID.

  • source_security_group_owner_id (Optional[str]) – [nondefault VPC] The AWS account ID for the source security group, if the source security group is in a different account. You can’t specify this property with an IP address range. Creates rules that grant full ICMP, UDP, and TCP access. If you specify SourceSecurityGroupName or SourceSecurityGroupId and that security group is owned by a different account than the account creating the stack, you must specify SourceSecurityGroupOwnerId ; otherwise, this property is optional.

  • to_port (Union[int, float, None]) – The end of port range for the TCP and UDP protocols, or an ICMP/ICMPv6 code. A value of -1 indicates all ICMP/ICMPv6 codes for the specified ICMP type. If you specify all ICMP/ICMPv6 types, you must specify all codes. Use this for ICMP and any protocol that uses ports.

Methods

add_deletion_override(path)

Syntactic sugar for addOverride(path, undefined).

Parameters:

path (str) – The path of the value to delete.

Return type:

None

add_depends_on(target)

Indicates that this resource depends on another resource and cannot be provisioned unless the other resource has been successfully provisioned.

This can be used for resources across stacks (or nested stack) boundaries and the dependency will automatically be transferred to the relevant scope.

Parameters:

target (CfnResource) –

Return type:

None

add_metadata(key, value)

Add a value to the CloudFormation Resource Metadata.

Parameters:
  • key (str) –

  • value (Any) –

See:

Return type:

None

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSCloudFormation/latest/UserGuide/metadata-section-structure.html

Note that this is a different set of metadata from CDK node metadata; this metadata ends up in the stack template under the resource, whereas CDK node metadata ends up in the Cloud Assembly.

add_override(path, value)

Adds an override to the synthesized CloudFormation resource.

To add a property override, either use addPropertyOverride or prefix path with “Properties.” (i.e. Properties.TopicName).

If the override is nested, separate each nested level using a dot (.) in the path parameter. If there is an array as part of the nesting, specify the index in the path.

To include a literal . in the property name, prefix with a \. In most programming languages you will need to write this as "\\." because the \ itself will need to be escaped.

For example:

cfn_resource.add_override("Properties.GlobalSecondaryIndexes.0.Projection.NonKeyAttributes", ["myattribute"])
cfn_resource.add_override("Properties.GlobalSecondaryIndexes.1.ProjectionType", "INCLUDE")

would add the overrides Example:

"Properties": {
   "GlobalSecondaryIndexes": [
     {
       "Projection": {
         "NonKeyAttributes": [ "myattribute" ]
         ...
       }
       ...
     },
     {
       "ProjectionType": "INCLUDE"
       ...
     },
   ]
   ...
}

The value argument to addOverride will not be processed or translated in any way. Pass raw JSON values in here with the correct capitalization for CloudFormation. If you pass CDK classes or structs, they will be rendered with lowercased key names, and CloudFormation will reject the template.

Parameters:
  • path (str) –

    • The path of the property, you can use dot notation to override values in complex types. Any intermdediate keys will be created as needed.

  • value (Any) –

    • The value. Could be primitive or complex.

Return type:

None

add_property_deletion_override(property_path)

Adds an override that deletes the value of a property from the resource definition.

Parameters:

property_path (str) – The path to the property.

Return type:

None

add_property_override(property_path, value)

Adds an override to a resource property.

Syntactic sugar for addOverride("Properties.<...>", value).

Parameters:
  • property_path (str) – The path of the property.

  • value (Any) – The value.

Return type:

None

apply_removal_policy(policy=None, *, apply_to_update_replace_policy=None, default=None)

Sets the deletion policy of the resource based on the removal policy specified.

The Removal Policy controls what happens to this resource when it stops being managed by CloudFormation, either because you’ve removed it from the CDK application or because you’ve made a change that requires the resource to be replaced.

The resource can be deleted (RemovalPolicy.DESTROY), or left in your AWS account for data recovery and cleanup later (RemovalPolicy.RETAIN).

Parameters:
  • policy (Optional[RemovalPolicy]) –

  • apply_to_update_replace_policy (Optional[bool]) – Apply the same deletion policy to the resource’s “UpdateReplacePolicy”. Default: true

  • default (Optional[RemovalPolicy]) – The default policy to apply in case the removal policy is not defined. Default: - Default value is resource specific. To determine the default value for a resoure, please consult that specific resource’s documentation.

Return type:

None

get_att(attribute_name)

Returns a token for an runtime attribute of this resource.

Ideally, use generated attribute accessors (e.g. resource.arn), but this can be used for future compatibility in case there is no generated attribute.

Parameters:

attribute_name (str) – The name of the attribute.

Return type:

Reference

get_metadata(key)

Retrieve a value value from the CloudFormation Resource Metadata.

Parameters:

key (str) –

See:

Return type:

Any

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSCloudFormation/latest/UserGuide/metadata-section-structure.html

Note that this is a different set of metadata from CDK node metadata; this metadata ends up in the stack template under the resource, whereas CDK node metadata ends up in the Cloud Assembly.
