SDK for PHP 3.x

Client: Aws\Pipes\PipesClient
Service ID: pipes
Version: 2015-10-07

This page describes the parameters and results for the operations of the Amazon EventBridge Pipes (2015-10-07), and shows how to use the Aws\Pipes\PipesClient object to call the described operations. This documentation is specific to the 2015-10-07 API version of the service.

Operation Summary

Each of the following operations can be created from a client using $client->getCommand('CommandName'), where "CommandName" is the name of one of the following operations. Note: a command is a value that encapsulates an operation and the parameters used to create an HTTP request.

You can also create and send a command immediately using the magic methods available on a client object: $client->commandName(/* parameters */). You can send the command asynchronously (returning a promise) by appending the word "Async" to the operation name: $client->commandNameAsync(/* parameters */).

CreatePipe ( array $params = [] )
Create a pipe.
DeletePipe ( array $params = [] )
Delete an existing pipe.
DescribePipe ( array $params = [] )
Get the information about an existing pipe.
ListPipes ( array $params = [] )
Get the pipes associated with this account.
ListTagsForResource ( array $params = [] )
Displays the tags associated with a pipe.
StartPipe ( array $params = [] )
Start an existing pipe.
StopPipe ( array $params = [] )
Stop an existing pipe.
TagResource ( array $params = [] )
Assigns one or more tags (key-value pairs) to the specified pipe.
UntagResource ( array $params = [] )
Removes one or more tags from the specified pipes.
UpdatePipe ( array $params = [] )
Update an existing pipe.

Paginators

Paginators handle automatically iterating over paginated API results. Paginators are associated with specific API operations, and they accept the parameters that the corresponding API operation accepts. You can get a paginator from a client class using getPaginator($paginatorName, $operationParameters). This client supports the following paginators:

CreatePipe

$result = $client->createPipe([/* ... */]);
$promise = $client->createPipeAsync([/* ... */]);

Create a pipe. Amazon EventBridge Pipes connect event sources to targets and reduces the need for specialized knowledge and integration code.

TagResource

$result = $client->tagResource([/* ... */]);
$promise = $client->tagResourceAsync([/* ... */]);

Assigns one or more tags (key-value pairs) to the specified pipe. Tags can help you organize and categorize your resources. You can also use them to scope user permissions by granting a user permission to access or change only resources with certain tag values.

Tags don't have any semantic meaning to Amazon Web Services and are interpreted strictly as strings of characters.

You can use the TagResource action with a pipe that already has tags. If you specify a new tag key, this tag is appended to the list of tags associated with the pipe. If you specify a tag key that is already associated with the pipe, the new tag value that you specify replaces the previous value for that tag.

You can associate as many as 50 tags with a pipe.

Parameter Syntax

$result = $client->tagResource([
    'resourceArn' => '<string>', // REQUIRED
    'tags' => ['<string>', ...], // REQUIRED
]);

UpdatePipe

$result = $client->updatePipe([/* ... */]);
$promise = $client->updatePipeAsync([/* ... */]);

Update an existing pipe. When you call UpdatePipe, EventBridge only the updates fields you have specified in the request; the rest remain unchanged. The exception to this is if you modify any Amazon Web Services-service specific fields in the SourceParameters, EnrichmentParameters, or TargetParameters objects. For example, DynamoDBStreamParameters or EventBridgeEventBusParameters. EventBridge updates the fields in these objects atomically as one and overrides existing values. This is by design, and means that if you don't specify an optional field in one of these Parameters objects, EventBridge sets that field to its system-default value during the update.

For more information about pipes, see Amazon EventBridge Pipes in the Amazon EventBridge User Guide.

Value
Required: Yes
Type: string

The quantity of the specified resource to reserve for the container. The values vary based on the type specified.

type="GPU"

The number of physical GPUs to reserve for the container. Make sure that the number of GPUs reserved for all containers in a job doesn't exceed the number of available GPUs on the compute resource that the job is launched on.

GPUs aren't available for jobs that are running on Fargate resources.

type="MEMORY"

The memory hard limit (in MiB) present to the container. This parameter is supported for jobs that are running on EC2 resources. If your container attempts to exceed the memory specified, the container is terminated. This parameter maps to Memory in the Create a container section of the Docker Remote API and the --memory option to docker run. You must specify at least 4 MiB of memory for a job. This is required but can be specified in several places for multi-node parallel (MNP) jobs. It must be specified for each node at least once. This parameter maps to Memory in the Create a container section of the Docker Remote API and the --memory option to docker run.

If you're trying to maximize your resource utilization by providing your jobs as much memory as possible for a particular instance type, see Memory management in the Batch User Guide.

For jobs that are running on Fargate resources, then value is the hard limit (in MiB), and must match one of the supported values and the VCPU values must be one of the values supported for that memory value.

PipeLogConfigurationParameters

Description

Specifies the logging configuration settings for the pipe.

When you call UpdatePipe, EventBridge updates the fields in the PipeLogConfigurationParameters object atomically as one and overrides existing values. This is by design. If you don't specify an optional field in any of the Amazon Web Services service parameters objects (CloudwatchLogsLogDestinationParameters, FirehoseLogDestinationParameters, or S3LogDestinationParameters), EventBridge sets that field to its system-default value during the update.

For example, suppose when you created the pipe you specified a Firehose stream log destination. You then update the pipe to add an Amazon S3 log destination. In addition to specifying the S3LogDestinationParameters for the new log destination, you must also specify the fields in the FirehoseLogDestinationParameters object in order to retain the Firehose stream log destination.

For more information on generating pipe log records, see Log EventBridge Pipes in the Amazon EventBridge User Guide.
